Brandon Schlake is a seasoned trader whose work broke numerous sales and growth records during his time at Cargill. Across multiple leadership roles, he generated significant proprietary trading revenue while supporting, coaching, and mentoring merchants at all levels of experience. Brandon draws on his deep understanding of diverse agricultural commodities to develop effective buy and sell strategies, analyze supply and demand dynamics, and manage risk. He is known as a strong relationship builder, trusted resource for farmers and suppliers, and skilled negotiator who always keeps the long-term perspective in mind.
Brandon grew up on a small family farm near Beatrice, Nebraska, and agriculture and trading have been central to his career from the start. At Cargill, he achieved success across multiple positions, including Alpha Trader and U.S. Merchandising Manager for Cargill Cattle Feeders, Live Pork, Turkey Production, and Egg Production. He also led trading efforts for Cargill’s spring wheat flour mills across the U.S. and Canada. During the first decade of his career, he focused on buying and trading grain for Cargill elevators throughout the Midwest.
Outside of work, Brandon is an active youth coach in softball, baseball, and basketball, supporting his four athletic children. He and his wife live with their family in Platte City, Missouri.
